The Amherst Area Amateur Astronomers Association (5As), founded in 1984, is a Nonprofit, Tax Exempt, Public Service Organization for the Support, Study, Enjoyment, Education, and Advancement of Astronomy, Science, and Nature. The 5As conducts Free Regular Public Programs including Observing, Outreach, and Classes. In an effort to meet the needs of its members there are programs and services including year-round club observing, assistance with obtaining and using telescopes, and the opportunity to learn from experienced observers with exposure to many astronomical instruments. Programs exist for novice as well as expert observers. The 5As is open to all who want to join and maintains an extrememly open door policy allowing non-members to attend meetings and events if they choose.  Click HERE  to see our Constitution.
